Can you think of a people who have been blessed more than we? A couple of verses come to mind such as James 1:17 and Ephesians 1:3.

James says, "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." Can you think of physical blessings any man has been given that we do not have in abundance today. We have modern conveniences that man never ever dreamed of years ago. Think of air-condition and heating, the automobile, indoor-pluming, electricity. Think of the modern media such as the internet which has more information at the touch of a computer than the libraries of the past could hold however large they were and of which we had little access.

Paul tells us, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ". Think of Moses and the prophets of the old covenant. They longed to look into the things they wrote concerning the coming Christ and the salvation that was to be found in Him. We have in the New Testament a record of our Lord's coming and of the salvation now provided for us. We have hope based on the resurrection of Christ. Who could be blessed more?

Now, next time you begin to complain about how bad this world of ours has become, I want you to count your many blessings and stop and bow your head to give thanks for His blessings small and great, physical and spiritual, temporal and eternal. When you think of the cross of Christ and the suffering that He went through for you, think of how little you have suffer for Him and how thankful you are for Him. When you criticize your fellow brother in Christ, I want you to think how Christ died for Him and how thankful you are that there are brethren.
