Preacher Wayne Seaton
Wayne Seaton was born on October 12, 1950 at Patuxent River naval Air Station, in Patuxent River, MD. At the age of two, his family moved to Havelock, North Carolina. His father, James Robert Seaton was the Avionics Officer at Cherry Point Marine Air Station, a veteran of World War II and Korea, and an elder of the Lord’s church in Newport. His father died in 1962, and his mother sent him to Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia.

After graduating from Fork Union, Wayne continued his education at Florida College from 1969-1971. While at Florida College, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. After leaving the military in 1975, Wayne worked as a computer engineer with Wang Laboratories in Virginia from 1975 to 1985, and for NEC technologies from 1985 to 2001, where he maintained the AFIS Fingerprint System for multiple state Police Departments. While secularly employed Wayne preached for churches in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.

Wayne was laid off from NEC one month after the tragedy of 911, when after much thought he decided to preach the gospel full-time. He has worked with the First Street church in Lawrenceburg, TN, the Lower Richland church in Columbia, SC, and the Robison St. church in Edna, TX, and the West Fayetteville church in North Carolina where he currently labors. Wayne participated in the Truth Lectures in 2008 and published a complete transcript of the 1990 Dallas Meeting, a meeting of 52 conservative and institutional preachers in Dallas, TX who were discussing the issues that have divided us over the years.

Wayne has a wife, Rita, and three sons: Jeremy who works for IBM in Rocket Town West Virginia after retired from the Army where he served two tours in Iraq and a tour in Afghanistan; Matthew who is studying for his PHD in Physics from the University of South Carolina; and Timothy who graduated from Rio Grande University and preached in Mayo, Florida and Zanesville, Ohio where he currently lives.
